Welcome to Belly Blossoms Doula Services
My name is Elizabeth Valencia, I am a Certified Labor Doula, Certified Postpartum Doula, and Lactation Specialist.
My journey into the field of helping mommies & mommies-to-be began the day I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl. I knew my baby was going to change my life the day I peed on a stick and it said "+"! I just didn't know how much she would change my life. As a new mom, I wanted to do everything I could to breastfeed successfully. My goal was to breastfeed at least the first 3 months. I called the local breastfeeding support line and asked a million questions. Still unsure about things, I joined a mom-to-mom breastfeeding support group in my area. That is where I met my Lactation Consultant that gave me constant reassurance and confidence I needed to continue breastfeeding my precious little girl. My 3 months turned to 6 months, then 12 months and then a little over 2 years. During these two years I came to realize both the benefits of breastfeeding and the lack of support. In 2009 I took the Grow Our Own/IBCLC Lactation Consultant Prep Course.
While working with moms I realized I wanted to do more to support these moms. So I took both the Postpartum Doula Training and the Labor Doula Training through CAPPA. I want to reach as many moms in my community as I can to support them through labor and beyond. I love what I do!
